Most patients have very few side effects and those that they do have are quick to resolve. Compared to comparator products, patients saw 50% less swelling with Revanesse® VersaTM. Patients can expect to continue normal activities including spending time with family, running errands, or gentle stretching. Patients who experience side effects can Extra Strength Tylenol and apply ice to affected areas. There are extremely rare reports of the product inadvertently placed in the surrounding blood vessels causing skin necrosis (loss of tissue). This rare complication can be managed with the use of a compound called hyaluronidase or Vitrase (an eraser for the hyaluronic acid) amongst other treatments.
